Derek Laurence Johnson Jr., known professionally as Derek Minor, is an American Christian rapper, singer, and record producer. Born on 16 December, 1984, in Pontiac, Michigan, U.S., he is recognized for his thought-provoking lyrics and for blending hip-hop with a faith-based perspective. He is a prominent figure in Christian hip-hop and co-founded his own record label, Reflection Music Group, in 2011. Derek Minor is the co-founder and CEO of Reflection Music Group (RMG), and his music is also distributed by eOne Music. He was also a member of the hip-hop collective 116 Clique. His extensive discography includes albums such as Minorville and The Trap. He is a two-time Grammy Award winner for his production work on Lecrae's albums, and he has collaborated with artists like Lecrae and Tye Tribbett. His music is widely available on digital streaming platforms.
