JJ Hairston

James "J.J." Hairston is an American gospel singer, songwriter, and producer, born on 22 June, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. He is primarily recognized as the leader and chief songwriter of the acclaimed gospel choir Youthful Praise, which he co-founded and has led for decades. Hairston is celebrated for his dynamic and energetic approach to gospel music, which has garnered the choir numerous awards and chart success. J.J. Hairston is the CEO and founder of his own record label, JamesTown Music. In November 2024, JamesTown Music formalized a partnership deal with Motown Gospel, a division of Capitol CMG/Universal Music Group. Prior to this, Youthful Praise had released music through labels such as Evidence Gospel/Light Records. He continues to develop music through JamesTown Music, aiming to create inspirational content for audiences worldwide.
