About Khaya Mthethwa
Khayelihle Nkosinathi Mthethwa, known professionally as Khaya Mthethwa, is a South African singer-songwriter, musician, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist. Born on 25 November, 1987, in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, he gained widespread fame as the first black winner of Idols South Africa in 2012. He is also a pastor, earning him the nickname "The PK" (The Pastor's Kid), and is recognized for his powerful gospel, R&B, and Afro-soul sound.
Khaya Mthethwa was formerly signed to Universal Music Group, under which he released albums such as "For You" (2012) and "The Uprising" (2014). He continues to be a prominent figure in the South African music and ministry scene, releasing albums like "The Dawn" and "All About Jesus." Beyond his solo career, he has collaborated with and provided backing vocals for various renowned gospel artists and choirs, including Joyous Celebration.
