Mzukulu

Sfanele Dumisani Zulu, professionally known as Mzukulu, is a South African Maskandi artist. He was raised in the Ngungumbane tribal authority in the KwaZulu-Natal district of Engeza, born into a family with deep roots in Maskandi music, being the grandson of Zimele Buthelezi and son of the late Maskandi performers Phumangelakhe and Thuleleni (Ma-Hlela) Buthelezi. He started performing as a teenager around 2010, contributing to the rich tradition of Zulu folk music. Mzukulu is signed to 1020 Cartel, an independent record label established by Sjava and Ruff in 2019. He has released several albums under this label, including "Ivila Laselawini" (2021) and "Phendula" (2022). His discography also includes albums such as "Mabili Amaxoki" and "Uphaqa Onembobo," and he frequently collaborates with other artists in the Maskandi and Afro-Beat genres.
