About TY Bello
Toyin Sokefun-Bello, known professionally as TY Bello, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, photographer, and philanthropist. Born on 14 January, 1978, in Ogun State, Nigeria, she is recognized as a versatile artist who has made significant contributions to both the music and photography industries. Before her solo career, she was a member of the defunct gospel band Kush, which gained popularity in the early 2000s. Her music is known for its soulful, urban, and inspiring blend of gospel, R&B, and pop, often carrying messages of hope and national pride.
TY Bello has primarily released her music independently, often credited under TY Bello Music or her associated photography collective, Depth of Field. Some of her earlier work, such as "Green Land," was released on North Avenue Records, and more recently, she has collaborated with Energize Music. Her extensive discography includes successful albums like "Greenland" (2008), "The Morning Songbook" (2014), "Africa Awake" (2021), "We Are Fire" (2022), "Heaven Has Come" (2023), and "The Spirit of Light" (2024).
