Victor Thompson

Victor Ufuoma Thompson, born on 11 November 1986, is a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter widely known for his contemporary worship songs that blend African rhythms with rich spiritual expression. He is originally from Okpara‑Inland in Ethiope East, Delta State, but was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. Victor’s educational journey took him through St. Anthony Nursery & Primary School, Caleb International School, and Government College, Ikorodu, before he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun. His passion for music became publicly evident around 2017 when he participated in The Voice Nigeria, and he officially kickstarted his music career with the release of his single “Miyeruwe” in 2018.

Victor Thompson rose to international recognition with his hit song “This Year (Blessings)”, a powerful anthem of hope and divine favour. The song resonated deeply across Africa and beyond, earning him widespread acclaim and chart success in the United States and the United Kingdom. In December 2023, he released his debut album titled Blessed, a collection of worship songs that reflect his faith and musical excellence. Victor is married to Henrietta Thompson, also known as Henrietta Victor Thompson, who is a Christian influencer and musician. Their shared commitment to faith, music, and family life has endeared them to many within the gospel community.
